Sibiu International Airport (SBZ) Car Hire

Customers must confirm at the time of reservation pick up and return time to ensure the rental counter will be manned to service after hours reservations at the communicated times. Please park the rental vehicle in the airport parking facility in the rent a car places. The airport parking is on the ground floor. There are no levels.  Serviced by Enterprise Rent A Car.

All renters must be of the age of 21 and above to rent all car groups. Renters between the age of 21 and 24 will be charged a young driver fee of 3.57 EUR per day inclusive of VAT and renters over the age of 75 will be charged a driver fee of 2.38 EUR per day inclusive of VAT.

Cross Border Policy: Cross border rentals are allowed within the European countries and Turkey (continental part). A prior written authorization is required. There is also an insurance fee that applies and includes the green card. These kinds of rentals should be requested from National Car Rental at least 7 working days prior to the pickup date. Please contact our reservations department for further information and the process of the publication of the green card. Minimum time for the publication of a green card is 3 working days. The green card covers the rented vehicle with basic insurance - TPI as long as it remains within the borders of the countries for which it is issued. Roadside assistance and car replacement whilst driving abroad is available at an additional cost. Towing or replacement fee is 1.15 EUR per km and may increase in cases that is it necessary to wait; usually due to an accident.

The cross border fees are:

50.00 EUR plus VAT (Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate) - for EU countries per rental.
80.00 EUR plus VAT (Intermediate Wagon, Intermediate SUVs, Standard and Full-size) - for EU countries per rental.
100.00 EUR plus VAT (Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate) - for non EU countries per rental. Some restrictions may apply.
130.00 EUR plus VAT (Intermediate Wagon, Intermediate SUVs, Standard and Full-size)  - for non EU countries per rental. Some restrictions may apply.

Delivery and/or collection of the vehicle to/from locations is available within the city limits between the hours of 09:00 AM and 09:00 PM Monday to Friday for an additional fee of 25 EUR per service plus VAT. The driver must be present to show the following documentation: EU Citizens – ID card, driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months, and a credit card with the customer's name on it. Non-EU citizens will also have to present their passport. Delivery and collection is available outside of the city limits for an additional fee of 25 EUR per service and 0.35 EUR per km plus VAT. This is available in all locations in Romania with a minimum rental length of 3 days and for specific car groups. All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it is collected will be subject to a one-way fee. Unauthorized one-way drops will be charged at the end of the rental. The one-way fee must be paid at the rental counter. International one ways are also available from Romanian rental offices to selected International locations. Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection – CDWTP: This is an optional coverage which reduces the customer's financial responsibility in case of damage to the hire vehicle or theft/fire, up to the excess amount*. If Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection (CDWTP) is not included in the reservation, the renter has full liability for the vehicle. CDWTP is also available for purchase.

CDWTP does not provide any coverage for damage to the underside of the vehicle, interior of the vehicle, windscreens, mirrors or tyres. The customer is liable for the full cost of the vehicle if this coverage product is not purchased.

A police statement must be presented to the hire company in the event of an accident. Without a police report, the client is fully liable for damages. The customer assumes full responsibility if the damage caused is due to infringement of the road circulation code.

If not included in the reservation and before purchasing CDWTP, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If CDWTP is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges up to the Damage Waiver excess amount and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. CDWTP is not insurance.

*Applicable excess amounts per category:

Mini and Economy: 1,400 EUR
Compact incl. SUV and Wagon: 1,700 EUR
Intermediate, incl. Van: 2,100 EUR
Intermediate Wagon, Standard, Standard Van and Full-Size SUV: 2,700 EUR

Full to full. All rental vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition. Should the vehicle be returned with less than a full tank, the difference will be charged in accordance to the official rate of Enterprise Rent A Car Romania. In addition a service fee of 35.70 EUR inclusive of VAT will apply.

During the winter season of 1 November to 31 March and in cases of inclement winter weather conditions in the country of Romania all rental vehicles are fitted with winter tires in accordance to local road laws. Winter tires are included in all rates.

All major credit cards, issued by either American Express, Mastercard and Visa are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Debit cards can be used to settle any outstanding balances at the end of the rental. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. The deposit is 280 EUR for the categories Mini and Economy and 500 EUR for the categories Compact and Intermediate. For the categories Full Size and Standard the deposit is 1000 EUR.

Roadside service is available within the country of Romania. This assistance is free of charge as long as the customer was not at fault or in breach of the rental conditions. In the event the customer is at fault or in breach of rental conditions, a per kilometer charge of 0.50 EUR inclusive of VAT for Roadside service will be charged.

All drivers must present a valid national driving licence that has been held for a minimum of 12 months along with an identity card or passport. For non-EU renters, a physical international driving licence must be presented alongside their national driving licence.

Supplementary Liability Insurance - Third Party Insurance is required by law, free of charge, and included in all rates. Coverage limits for third party bodily injury or death cover up to 5,000,000 EUR and for third party property damage, 1,000,000 EUR.
